Why is this a serious problem?

Falsely Accused Men (Victims)

These false accusations often lead to immediate arrest and prolonged time in custody (jail), with little regard for the damage to the lives of falsely accused men. These men are deprived of their freedom, forced to endure social stigma.

This also severely impacts financial health and career prospects. They get drained of resources while waiting for relief from false criminal cases, which can take anywhere from weeks to years.

The emotional and psychological toll is immense. Some men are pushed to commit murder to avoid becoming victims, and some tragically resort to suicide.

Women Filing False Accusations (Perpetrators)

Overwhelming majority of false complaints in 'Crimes Against Women' cases are filed by adult urban women. Their most common intentions are extortion, blackmail, revenge, and covering up their misconduct. They exploit the justice system for their own ends, and reduce trust and perceived severity of actual incidents of sexual violence and cruelty against women.

Bias in Justice System

Women making false complaints of sexual crimes and cruelty mostly go unpunished, and are able to file multiple such cases repeatedly on the same or multiple men, while men that defend themselves against a woman in court face a negative bias.

About this analysis

This analysis aims to unveil the alarming prevalence of fake cases, which are often overlooked due to being hidden behind the legal process or actively diminished to downplay the issue of false accusations.

The four criminal cases this analysis covers are non-bailable. The accused is immediately arrested and placed in custody without preliminary investigation (except for cruelty cases since 2017). Such accusations are abused extensively by women.

Estimation is used to provide a perspective that's closer to ground reality.
